These are the terms on which you use piholekiller.com. By clicking BEGIN THE GAUNTLET or otherwise using the site, you accept them. If you don't accept them, don't click.

what this site is

piholekiller.com is a free, opt-in network privacy verification tool. We load tags from real third-party advertising networks so you can see whether your ad blocker, DNS sinkhole, or privacy setup catches them. The point of the site is to give you ground truth about how well your blocking works against the same networks that actually try to track you on the open internet.

who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old. Some of the ads that may load during the gauntlet are not suitable for minors. If you are under 18, close the page and go play outside.

the consent warning is the main event

we don't serve the ads ourselves

The content of any ad that renders on this page is served by the third-party network whose tag produced it, not by us. We do not select individual creative, do not have insight into the specific ad an individual user sees, and do not endorse any product, service, or message shown.

If you see a creative that violates the network's own policies (malware, illegal goods, actual fraud), report it to the network directly — their policies cover creative quality, not ours.

no warranty

The site is provided "as-is." We do not warrant that:

• The test is complete, perfect, or covers every possible ad network in existence
• A perfect score means you are fully protected against all tracking everywhere
• A failing score means your blocker is useless (it may still protect against many things outside the scope of this test)
• The site will be available, error-free, or uninterrupted at all times
• Any specific result you see is a definitive verdict on the quality of any specific product

Treat the results as directional information, not a substitute for professional security auditing.

limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive — arising from your use of this site. This includes any harm caused by third-party ads rendered through the gauntlet, any decisions you make based on your test results, or any data collected about you by the third-party networks whose tags load when you click the button.

If a court decides the above limitation does not apply to you, our maximum aggregate liability is capped at $50 (fifty US dollars) per visitor, and you agree that this is a reasonable allocation of risk for a free tool.

no hacking, no scraping

• Do not attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the site or its infrastructure
• Do not attempt to bypass the consent gate to cause ads to load without explicit click
• Do not run automated tools to spam the gauntlet for click-fraud purposes — the ad networks watch for this and will ban you; we'll also ban your IP
• Do not mirror, clone, or rebrand the site under a different domain without written permission

intellectual property

The site design, code, test methodology, copy, and branding are ours. You may link to the site, screenshot your score to share, and quote small portions in reviews or articles. You may not copy the full design or the test harness for your own commercial use.

changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. When we do, we update the "last updated" date. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the new terms. For material changes, we post a notice on the homepage for at least 30 days.

governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the site shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
