piholekiller.com ("we," "us," "the site") is a consent-based network privacy verification tool. We built this page to be as transparent as possible about what does and does not happen to your data when you visit.

what we collect directly (nothing)

We do not run any of our own analytics, tracking, telemetry, or server-side logging of visitors. The site is a static page served from a CDN. We do not operate a database of visitors, do not issue cookies from our own domain, and do not identify individual users.

The only information we receive directly is what your browser sends to our CDN (your IP address, user agent string, and the URL you requested) for the brief moment required to serve the page. We do not retain these logs beyond the CDN's operational rolling window.

what third-party ad networks collect (this is the honest part)

When you click BEGIN THE GAUNTLET, we intentionally load tags from real third-party advertising networks so you can measure whether your blocker catches them. If your blocker does not catch them, those networks may:

• Set cookies in your browser
• Read your IP address and approximate geolocation
• Record your user agent and browser fingerprint
• Display ads targeted to you based on their own third-party data
• Attempt to open popunder or interstitial windows
• Request permission to send push notifications (you can decline)

The networks whose tags we may serve include: Adsterra, PropellerAds, HilltopAds, EvaDav, RichAds, and other similar programmatic ad networks. Each of these companies has its own privacy policy that applies to data collected via their tags.

We do not control what these networks collect, how long they retain it, or how they use it. This is precisely why the test exists: to let you verify whether your blocker stops them from collecting in the first place.

your choice to opt in

No third-party tags fire until you explicitly click the BEGIN THE GAUNTLET button. If you do not click, no ad tags are loaded and no third-party network sees your visit. You control when and whether ads load on this page.

how to opt out of tracking generally

If you are here, you probably already run an ad blocker. If not, consider:

• Enable a DNS-level blocker (Pi-Hole, AdGuard Home, NextDNS)
• Install a browser-level blocker (uBlock Origin, AdGuard)
• Enable your browser's "Do Not Track" setting (though many networks ignore it)
• Opt out at the Network Advertising Initiative and Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out pages
• Use a browser with built-in tracker blocking (Brave, Firefox with Strict mode, Safari with ITP)

cookies we set (none from our domain)

This site does not set any cookies from the piholekiller.com domain. All cookies you see in your browser after running the gauntlet are set by the third-party ad networks listed above, per their own policies.

your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Since we do not store or process personal data ourselves, most of the rights granted by the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are structurally satisfied — we have nothing about you to show you, fix, or delete. If you'd like confirmation of this in writing, email contact@piholekiller.com.

For requests related to data held by the third-party ad networks, you must contact each network directly — their privacy pages have their own data-request processes. This is a limitation of the test-site model: we cannot speak for those networks' data practices.

California residents: we do not "sell" personal information as defined by the CCPA, since we do not collect personal information. If third-party ad networks load on this page and collect data via their tags, those transactions are between you and the network — not between us and the network.

children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone. The aggressive ad content that may load during the gauntlet is not suitable for minors — if you are under 18, close the page.

changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we update the "last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we post a notice on the homepage for at least 30 days.
